Changing a auto incrementing column to a data type that doesn't support it.

When changing a auto incrementing column to a data type that doesn't support auto incrementing, I was wondering whether the behaviour should be to remove the auto increment option from the column?

Currently it removes the checkbox from the options tab on the column settings, but doesn't remove it from the column itself.
