AI Credit Management lets admins allocate credits from a shared team pool, monitor user-level consumption, and review remaining balances. Users can also see their own credit usage directly in SqlDBM Copilot
How AI credits work
SqlDBM AI credits are managed from a shared team pool. Admins can keep users on an unlimited setting or assign a fixed credit allocation to specific users. The Users tab shows how much has been allocated, how much has been used, and how much remains available.
- Team pool: the total number of AI credits available to the workspace.
- Allocated: credits assigned to individual users from the shared pool.
- Left to allocate: credits still available for assignment.
- Used: credits consumed through SqlDBM AI activity.
- Remaining: credits still available to a user based on their allocation and usage.
1. Review organization-level credit usage
Open SqlDBM AI settings and select the Organization tab. This view shows the organization’s total AI credit usage, including credits used and credits remaining.

2. Open the Users tab
Select the Users tab to review the team pool and the user-level allocation table. Before fixed allocations are assigned, the pool shows 0 allocated and the full balance left to allocate.

3. Allocate credits to users
To assign a fixed credit amount to a user:
- Find the user in the Team member column.
- Clear the Unlimited option for that user.
- Enter the credit amount, or use the plus and minus controls to adjust the value.
- Review the team pool summary to confirm the allocated amount and the credits left to allocate.
- Select Save.
Example allocation, 100 credits assigned to one user and 1,000 credits assigned to another user.
4. Review allocated users and remaining balances
Use the table columns to review or sort users by team member, allocation, used credits, or remaining credits. This helps administrators identify users who may need additional credits or users who are consuming credits faster than expected.

5. What users see in SqlDBM Copilot
Users can view their current credit usage directly in SqlDBM Copilot. The credit indicator shows credits used, total assigned credits, and usage percentage. If users need additional credits, they should contact their administrator.

6. Monitor usage after AI activity

Frequently asked questions
Does allocating credits change the team pool?
No. Allocations come from the existing shared team pool and are reflected in the same overall balance.
What does Unlimited mean?
Unlimited means the user does not have a fixed credit cap in this view. Use a fixed allocation when you want to control that user’s AI credit consumption.
Why does the team pool show allocated and left to allocate?
This helps administrators understand how much of the shared pool has already been assigned and how much remains available for future allocation.
Where can users see their credit usage?
Users can see their credit usage from the credit indicator in SqlDBM Copilot.
What should users do if they need more credits?
Users should contact their workspace admins to request additional credits.
