Overview
Copilot now works directly on the Semantic Model page. Previously, you had to leave the page to interact with Copilot, causing it to work against the project's default semantic model instead of the model you were viewing.

What you can do
- Create a new semantic model.
- Switch between semantic models.
- Add tables and views.
- Set business names and descriptions for tables and views.
- Configure semantic properties including semantic type, synonyms, sample values, and column exposure.
- Ask questions about the active semantic model.
Working with Semantic Models
Copilot always works against the semantic model that is currently open. Changes are applied only to that semantic model. Editing properties inside a named semantic model overrides inherited values from the default semantic model without changing the underlying physical objects.
Navigation
If your request belongs on another page, Copilot explains why, asks for confirmation, navigates you to the correct page, and can bring you back afterwards. Nothing moves without your approval.
Transparent Responses
Copilot reports when an action cannot be completed instead of claiming success. For example, it will notify you if a semantic model name already exists, an object is not part of the model, or the requested action belongs on a different page.
