Included credits are AI credits that every user with Copilot enabled gets each day. Your organization is not billed for them. You use them while your organization has no purchased AI credits, either because none have been bought yet or because they have all been used.
Copilot must be enabled for your account first. See Enabling Copilot for your account and users.
How the daily limit works
- Per user — each user has their own daily limit. Credits used by other users do not count toward yours.
- Daily — you start each day with a fresh set of included credits. Unused credits do not carry over.
- Every AI feature counts toward it — Copilot and all other AI features in SqlDBM share the same daily limit. How many credits a request uses depends on the work it involves: a long task, a large file or a big database model uses more than a short question.
Checking how much you have left
In Copilot, click the Credit usage icon. Under Included credits you can see how much you have used today and when your credits come back.
The numbers and times in this article's screenshots are examples.
Admins can also see the daily limit per user and when it resets on the Dashboard: go to Account → SqlDBM AI settings → Organization and find Included daily credits.
When you reach your daily limit
Copilot and the other AI features open the Daily limit reached popup, which shows when your credits come back and how to get more. AI features do not run until you have credits again, but your chats are kept and everything else in SqlDBM keeps working as usual.
Getting more credits
- If you are an admin, click Get more credits in the Daily limit reached popup, or go to Account → SqlDBM AI settings → Organization. This takes you to the SqlDBM contact page, where you can request AI credits for your organization. SqlDBM will follow up with options.
- If you are not an admin, click Notify admin in the Daily limit reached popup to let your admins know. They are notified through the channels set in Communications settings.
Purchased credits are added once your purchase is complete, so they may not arrive the same day. Until then, your included credits come back at each daily reset.
After AI credits are purchased
When AI credits are purchased for your organization, every AI feature uses them in place of included credits. When the purchased credits run out, every user goes back to included credits. To see how admins manage purchased credits, see Manage AI Credits in SqlDBM AI.
If your admins set up Bring Your Own Model, Copilot runs on your own AI provider and does not use SqlDBM credits.
